LISA CAPSHAW'S BIOGRAPHY

Licensed Minister of The Fishermen Ministry Located in Round O, South Carolina

I was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina.  I was not raised in a christian home.  Life at home was far from peaceful and I was an angry teenager.  I was struggling in school and failed my 9th grade year.  I completed my second year of 9th grade living at an opportunity school in Columbia, South Carolina.  There I met Ms. Sanders, school guidance counselor, and on fire for the Lord.  I was very curious about Christianity but wasn’t convinced that it was real.  I completed 9th grade that year, but soon dropped out of high school to go to work.

I started cleaning for one of my dads hunting buddies who shared a house with his nephew.  As I spent time with them, I noticed a peace and joy that they had, and I was envious.

I didn’t know that anyone had that kind of freedom from the bonds of this life.

I became very close to the older of these men and he became a father figure to me.  Most importantly he showed me the gospel of Jesus Christ.

When I was 18, I gave my life to the Lord.

For the first time in my life I had peace, joy and I was free!  My life had been changed by the power of Jesus Christ.  I knew it wasn’t anything I had done, I had been trying to change myself for years, with only failure.   I praise God for showing me that there is a better way!

In 1998, I met and married my husband Brad and we live in Cottageville, SC with our 2 boys.

The Lord has truly blessed me exceedingly abundantly above all that I could ask or think!

It has not been an easy road.  There have been ups and downs and times that I have frankly, wanted to give up.

But it always comes back to John 6:67-68 Jesus asking His disciples “will ye also go away?”  Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go?  thou hast the words of eternal life.
